remember how I wrote?

If you can't put this album on and relax (maybe smoke some weed or something if you're into that kind of thing, but that's not my style) and just enjoy the soundscapes, there's something very, very wrong with you. wonderful triphop/downtempo music, it all reminds me of snow, and ice, and chillness, and you should put this on and feel the ice in your body, cooling down that heat of excitement and energy and feeling... let it all drift out. lose yourself in this. it's very easy, i promise.

plus it makes a fucking epic driving soundtrack

A Love Like Pi - The Atlas And The Oyster

Oh, this is my body, I can give to you.

ALLP is the catchiest thing you will hear this month. Energy filled, packed with electronic boops and beeps, smushed with dance-y layers of delicious synth bits, and the catchiest, most power-packed vocals to ever happen to "indietronica" (as much as I fucking hate that word). From lyrics about little girls (Oh you're so young, oh you're so young, oh lolita oh lolita) to sympthonic bodies (my body isn't quite a symphony, but if you would put your ears close to me...) to cheating (caught you cleaning up your lovers mess) this album is a fucking trip and a half. You will dance, you will get caught up, you will sing every chorus, and you will do it with wild abandon. I recommend this for jamming out, a+ album, top 10 favorite of mine, and if you don't like it, you have no soul. The 4k listeners on lastfm (but 145k plays) shouldn't exactly hurt your indie cred either.
ps I can steal the upload from Sky because I showed this band to him - hello sky~

matt & kim - grand

It's been a terrible, terrible week. Having this album on repeat has really been the only good part of my week (Besides not seeing otep and iwrestledabearonce - I left and saw Despicable Me instead, it's the best fucking movie ever, I hope everyone sees it at least once.)

we threw our shoes in the ocean!

Grand is Matt & Kim's second album. They are a funky, upbeat, dance-y duo out of Brooklyn, and this whole album reminds me of summer. You'll find yourself dancing along, nodding your head, and smiling a whole lot wider than you are used to. It's a semi-well known album, but you know what? It's fucking good. It's got some sick beats, a bit of a california whine (my friend compared the vocals to blink 182 - i personally don't see it, but still.) but you'll still absolutely adore this album.

Idiot Pilot - Wolves

It must be your birthday, because I'm posting yet a third album today for your semi-enjoyment. You will like this album, if you don't, it's a case of too deep for you, and you should probably just kill yourself now, because you can't handle experimental genre crossovers.

Mediafire

Idiot Pilot's second album, Wolves, is full of strange experimenting. They're a post-hardcore duo, but they also throw in some weird beats, some fucking electronic bullshit that makes you feel just at home, 'cause it sounds like animal collective, and some crazy awesome buildups into some sweet-ass tunes that are in your face walls of noise and vocals that at times are reminiscent of Thom Yorke - and then suddenly, you're hearing screams that you could swear were from Fear Before's Odd How People Shake album, or hell, even The Blood Brother's Crimes at some points. While your brain is trying to process just where the hell those screams came from, the track switches, and you just hear some fantastic electronic noises, and you're starting to wonder if maybe you clicked on a different album while you were musically flailing to describe some of this. This album is sort of a roller-coaster of heavy and hard like the time you stretched your ears too fast, to soft and calm like you're listening to a slowcore album. Suddenly you're upside down and oh shit you forgot to fasten your safety harness oh god what is going on...shit, this is like the time you tripped while listening to some animal collective and you almost and then oh wait - you're righted again and everything is well. Hey, this is kind of calm, maybe some of this is okay. Don't let your friends know you're listening to this, or shit, they might disown you for listening to the shit that they "used to listen to" when they were "scene as fuck". (Ps: they still listen to it.)

Enjoy the coaster. Try not to fall out. You might hit the wall (of sexy ass noise)
